SYGILS & FOLK
Like many before her, Ashley is intrigued by the historical and cultural significance of the "divine feminine". The image of the female as sage or spirit is prevalent in her work, usually accompanied by symbolic flora and fauna. It is a goal to depict classical characters and ancient deities in a modern way, and at times it seems as though Ashley will create her own goddesses or characters to flex her storytelling muscles. There have been hours spent in research, stargazing and meditating in order to bring life to these pieces.

WHAT IS BEASTY FEAST?

The tagname Beasty Feast was coined by homegirl Jee Soo Rhee (aka STAXXY, aka Miko), a savior of beasts herself, and a sickeningly talented illustrator in her own right. It is not an official trademark, but a nickname.

The name evolved to become how Ashley would describe her work: an overwhelming, beastly feast for the eyes. It is suspected that her focus on lush, detailed black and white ink drawings in 2014 contributed to the developement of CDE in her eyeballz. So there you have it folks.
